Gap teeth are a common reason some people are unhappy with their smile. Also referred to as spacing issues, “gap teeth” refers to instances in which a person has extra space between at least two of their teeth.

Gapped teeth can cause you to have gums that are tender, sore and uncomfortable. Over time, people will spacing issues may also suffer from gum disease as a result of their gapped teeth.

Gapped teeth can also cause problems with speech, especially in young children.
